How do I purchase add-ons or pay for shipping?
At the close of our campaign, Kickstarter charged your linked credit card according to the pledge/reward tier you chose.
We use the BackerKit Pledge Manager to get up-to-date mailing addresses, confirm pledge tiers, let you purchase add-ons, and collect any additional item charges and total shipping costs.
First, you’ll receive your Backer Survey. Confirm or update your information, choose add-ons, and answer questions about rewards, like t-shirt styles and sizes, playmat styles, and film credit. Then, you will be charged for any add-on items selected.
Once we have all of the Backer Surveys, we will use the data to calculate final shipping costs for each combined backer shipment (pledge rewards plus any add-ons).
Finally, you’ll get another email telling you to reenter the BackerKit Pledge Manager to pay for your shipping costs (plus VAT or customs fees if you are in a country that requires them).

How big are the playmats, how are they made, and are they machine-washable?
All playmats are TCG standard size - 14” x 24”, and about 1/16” thick. They have stitched edges, and are made of high-density rubber and soft microfiber cloth.
Hand-washing is recommended, but the mats are machine-washable using a gentle cycle. Lay flat to air dry.

When will the film be widely released and where will I be able to watch it?
Specific distribution deals with various streaming services are being made as we speak by our distributor, and IGNITING THE SPARK will be appearing on streaming services soon. We will announce those details when we have word from The Nacelle Company.
You’ll receive the Collector’s Edition IGNITING THE SPARK Blu-ray with most pledge levels, and it has several extras, including a featurette on Magic art and artists, extended interviews with founders and designers, and more. You can also grab more copies as add-ons in your Pledge Manager!

Why can’t I download a copy of the film now that it’s finished?
Film distribution deals with streaming services almost always require some form of platform exclusivity, and do not allow filmmakers to distribute it digitally themselves. Our contract with our distributor precludes us from offering a downloadable or streamable version of the film ahead of those streaming channel deals, or while the film is played on them. We did receive permission to share digital extras and featurettes, however.

Who produced the documentary? Was it sponsored by Wizards of the Coast or Hasbro?
IGNITING THE SPARK was made by independent filmmakers Cavegirl Productions (Kelley Slagle & Seth C. Polansky) and X-Ray Films (Brian Stillman). The film is distributed by The Nacelle Company, producers of the docuseries The Toys That Made Us and The Movies That Made Us (Netflix), Behind The Attraction (Disney+), Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek (History Channel), and Icons Unearthed (Vice TV).
Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro are not financially or creatively attached to the film.

Why wasn’t <this person> interviewed for the documentary?
When making any documentary, we always have to balance our desire to include everyone and the need to tell a good story, and unfortunately, that means leaving some people out. The story of Magic: The Gathering is particularly HUGE, and we can only fit so many people in a coherent and entertaining, almost 2 hour movie.
With more than 60 interviews, we strived to include a good cross-section of 30+ years of Magic’s luminaries, contributors, players, and fans. The cast list on the campaign page doesn’t begin to include everyone we interviewed. We’re fans and players ourselves, so chances are, if there’s someone you wish was in the movie, we do, too!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
By completing this survey, you acknowledge that the final look, materials and content of the rewards (and the project) are subject to change and may differ substantially from what was presented while the Kickstarter project was active.
If you do not log in to the Pledge Manager and confirm your pledge in that system within the timeframe provided in our notification via email to confirm your pledge, you agree that we have fulfilled our obligations to you in full for payment or donations received. However, we may, at our discretion, fulfill your pledge after that window has elapsed.
If you confirm your pledge within the timeframe provided in our notification via email, you agree that our responsibility to you is to ship your order as entered into our pledge manager system, that title and risk passes to you upon delivery to a common carrier for such shipment, and you are responsible for import duties or any other duties that may be payable to the relevant tax authorities, providing correct address information, and ensuring this address is deliverable by normal methods. You acknowledge that you are responsible for all shipping, tax, duty, import and other fees related to your pledge and any Backerkit add-ons.
All backers that wish to receive a reward for this campaign must make sure to confirm their order by the Pledge Manager deadline. We will announce the date for this once the Pledge Manager becomes live. Unconfirmed pledges (with or without rewards) will be treated as donations once the Pledge Manager deadline has passed.
We reserve the right to cancel your order at any time, for any or no reason, and will refund to you payments received from you, excluding Kickstarter fees, credit card processing fees, and any other 3rd party fees.
Limitation of liability: Our liability to you shall be restricted, to the extent allowable by law, to the amount received directly from you by us. If you do not accept these terms please do not add anything in Backerkit.
